Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking an experienced Advanced Audiology Practitioner to work autonomously in out-patient clinics across South Powys, including Brecon, Bronllys, Ystradgynlais and Knighton Hospitals. The post holder will manage hearing and balance disorders with extended scope of practice.

The Bank position offers flexible hours, professional development, and opportunities to contribute to service improvement within Powys Teaching Health Board.

Qualifications

• MSc Audiological Science or equivalent (knowledge level)
• HCPC registration as Clinical Scientist (Audiology) or AHCS registration as Audiologist

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of hearing and balance disorders.
• Work as an autonomous practitioner, including first-contact management without GP upfront.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practice.
• Deliver specialist Audiological interventions and refer to other services when required.
• Request and utilise diagnostic investigations (MRI and others) to support diagnosis and management.
• Provide expert advice and clinical leadership to colleagues and primary care teams.
