Job Title: Bank Ophthalmic Theatre Practitioner

Contract Type: Bank

Rate: £32 per hour

We are expanding across the UK and are looking for flexible Theatre Practitioners to join our bank!

About the Role

The Theatre Practitioner will focus on patient-centered care, managing the entire pathway from pre-admission through surgery and post-operative care.

You will be experienced in preoperative assessment, diagnostics testing, and theatre scrub, following AfPP good practice guidelines.

We are looking for someone who can:
  • Provide compassionate support to patients, families, and friends
  • Prepare clinical areas for procedures
  • Assist surgeons in ophthalmic care delivery
  • Manage patient admission and discharge
  • Be proactive, eager to learn, and passionate about delivering quality care
  • Demonstrate effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Work well within a team environment
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Previous ophthalmic theatre experience
  • Relevant professional development, ideally evidenced by certification (RN with NMC registration or ODP with HCPC registration)
  • Up-to-date knowledge in ophthalmic practice
  • Proficiency in PC use, including relevant software and systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for delivering high-quality patient safety and care
