Job summary

Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading seeks an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our private hospital bank staff. The role offers flexible working patterns and opportunities to interact with patients across departments while delivering a comprehensive chemotherapy service.

You will plan, monitor and quality assure chemotherapy provision, assess patient needs, discuss with the clinical team, and provide pharmaceutical care.

Qualifications

• GPhC registration with SACT Passport is required.
• Minimum 1 year oncology experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience delivering chemotherapy-related pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology in chemotherapy treatment.
• Assess patients' health needs and medicines within changing clinical contexts.
• Discuss responsibilities for patient assessment with the clinical team regarding oncology medications.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet health needs.
• Respond to clinical and non-clinical queries.

Spire Dunedin Hospitalhas anexcitingbank opportunity for an experienced and capableOncology Pharmacist to join ourdynamic team. This role is ideally suited to someonewho is looking for the challenge of delivering a comprehensive pharmacy service within hospital settings.

Our pharmacists are not solely pharmacy based so you will have the opportunity to interact with patients across various departments to find out their pharmaceutical requirements, review medication history, current prescriptions and relevant clinical data.

Spire Dunedin Hospital has been serving the Reading community for over 100 years, as a first-class medical facility. Based in the heart of Reading, the hospital has two theatres, 16 inpatient beds, three recovery bays, Oncology services and an Endoscopy Suite

Duties and responsibilities:

• Plan,monitor andqualityassure theapplication oftechnology in the provisionofChemotherapy treatment
• Assess the health and well-being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicines
• Discuss, agree and explain responsibilities for assessment of patients with the clinical team,withspecificreferenceto the patient'spharmaceutical needsand oncology medication
• Plan,deliverandevaluate pharmaceuticalcare tomeetpatient'shealthandwellbeing needs
• Responding to clinical and non-clinical queries

Who we're looking for:

• Degree or its equivalent in Pharmacy
• Full GPhC Registration and BOPA SACT Passport
• Must have at least 1 year oncology experience
