Job summary

Spire Portsmouth Hospital is seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team on a bank basis. You will contribute to safe and effective chemotherapy delivery within a modern private hospital environment, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support patient care.

Here you will review medications, assess complex needs, provide specialist oncology pharmacy advice, and help ensure high standards of governance and practice.

Qualifications

• Current GPhC Registration is required.
• Valid BOPA SACT Passport is required.
• Minimum of one year's Oncology Pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology in chemotherapy treatments.
• Assess the health and wellbeing of patients with complex and changing pharmaceutical needs.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to support oncology and pharmaceutical requirements.

Spire Portsmouth Hospital | Bank | Private Hospital | Flexible Working

Spire Portsmouth Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team on a bank basis.

This role is ideal for a pharmacist with oncology experience who is looking for flexible working whilst continuing to deliver outstanding patient care within a modern private hospital environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of chemotherapy and oncology services.

Our pharmacists are actively involved in patient care across the hospital, providing expert medicines management, reviewing medication histories and prescriptions, and working closely with patients and colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology in the provision of chemotherapy treatments.
• Assess the health and wellbeing of patients whose pharmaceutical needs may be complex and changing.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to assess and support patients, with particular focus on their oncology and pharmaceutical requirements.
• Review medication histories, prescriptions and relevant clinical information to ensure safe and effective treatment.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patients' health and wellbeing needs.
• Provide specialist oncology pharmacy advice and respond to clinical and non-clinical queries.
• Support the safe and effective use of oncology medicines in line with clinical governance and best practice standards.

Essential Requirements

• Current GPhC Registration.
• Valid BOPA SACT Passport.
• Minimum of one year's Oncology Pharmacy experience.

In addition, you'll have:

• A Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification).
• Strong clinical knowledge of oncology treatments and chemotherapy services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A patient-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional care.

Please note

Due to the specialist nature of this role, applicants must hold current GPhC Registration, a valid BOPA SACT Passport and have a minimum of one year's Oncology Pharmacy experience. Applications that do not meet these essential requirements will not be considered.
