Job summary

Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Cleaner for a flexible bank contract. You will help maintain a clean, safe hospital environment, supporting patient care and staff across all areas.

Experience in hospitality or housekeeping is desirable, with full training provided. COSHH knowledge and strong communication are beneficial for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality and/or housekeeping is desirable.
• No formal qualifications are required, and full training will be provided.
• Good knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations would be beneficial.
• You must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate well with other members of staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of working on own initiative and with a methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Complete cleaning schedules related to the shift, ensuring rooms are ready set to the correct layout as needed.
• Cleaning and maintaining bedrooms, offices, public areas, sterile services department and public toilets within the hospital.
• To work in close liaison with the clinical staff dealing with the varying needs of the hospital.
• Compliance with all Health and Safety at Work Regulations including COSHH.
• Carry out any other duties that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.

Spire Dunedin Hospital is seeking a dedicated and motivated Housekeeper/Cleaner to join our Housekeeping Team on a bank contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and creating a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.

As a Housekeeper/Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the hospital remains clean, safe, and hygienic at all times, supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care within a professional healthcare setting.

Spire Dunedin Hospital has been serving the Reading community for over 100 years, as a first-class medical facility. Based in the heart of Reading, the hospital has two theatres, 16 inpatient beds, three recovery bays, Oncology services and an Endoscopy Suite.
