Shaw Healthcare is recruiting a Registered Nurse for Figbury Lodge, Poole, on a bank (zero hour) contract. Join a patient‑focused team delivering high‑quality nursing care to 60 residential and 20 nursing residents.

You will lead shifts, manage medicines, and uphold governance standards, with extensive training and development opportunities in a supportive, employee‑owned organisation.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience delivering nursing care in elderly health care sector.
• Ability to lead a team and mentor others in line with policy and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents' needs and develop care plans to enhance quality of life.
• Champion independence and personal choice; review and update care plans.
• Oversee medicine management on shift; ensure proper storage and administration.
• Build positive reputation; liaise with visitors and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines.
• Lead, guide, teach and mentor others in line with the NMC Code.
• Communicate effectively and develop professional relationships.
• Utilise IT and communication systems required for the role.

Job description

• Ensure the highest possible standards of care, assessing residents' needs and wishes, and developing services to enhance their quality of life

• Champion appropriate independence and personal choice; developing, reviewing and updating care plans to meet our resident's physical, social and psychological needs

• Oversee all aspects of medicine management on your shift - ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered, in accordance with company policies and current legislation

• Build the positive reputation of the Business; liaise professionally with visitors and other external stakeholders

• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines - identify, investigate and resolve risks proactively

• Support, guide, teach and mentor others in line with the NMC Code, following its guidance at all times

  The ability to lead a team, analyse problems and propose solutions or improvements
