Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Hexham is looking for a skilled Bank Maintenance Assistant to support a safe, therapeutic environment for women with complex needs. You will work flexible bank hours at Hexham, providing a broad range of maintenance tasks across sites as required.

You must be experienced in painting and decorating, hold a full UK driving licence and be prepared for on-call duties. DBS check is required; benefits include pension and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Able to record detailed, accurate maintenance information.
• Basic DIY and general maintenance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service.
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain plant, services and vehicles in working order.
• Comply with safe working practices and report faults and hazards.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergencies outside normal hours.
• Check fire alarm points weekly and ensure fire exits and emergency lights are functional.

Cygnet Hospital Hexham is our 27 bed mental health facility for women with complex mental health needs. The hospital has been designed to improve mental health within a therapeutic environment.

Your day-to-day...

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights

You are...

• Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably Level 2 Diploma qualified in Painting & Decorating/Maintenance
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
