Job summary

The Orpheus Centre in Godstone, Surrey is seeking Bank Learning Support Care Assistants to support young adults with learning disabilities across education, independent living and the arts. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to help learners achieve personal goals, develop daily living skills and participate in community activities.

Join Our Team at The Orpheus Centre

Are you passionate about supporting young adults with learning disabilities to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible?

The Orpheus Centre is looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated BANK Learning Support Care Assistants (LSCAs) to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 18-25 with learning disabilities and additional needs as they develop vital life skills, build confidence, and prepare for their futures through education, independent living and the arts.

Salary: £14.56 per hour

Location: Godstone, Surrey

Contract: Bank / Flexible hours available

About the Role

As a BANK LSCA, you will play a key role in supporting learners both in and out of the classroom, helping them to achieve their personal, educational and independence goals. Every day is different, and you will have the opportunity to support learners with:

• Independent living skills and daily routines
• Social, communication and employability skills
• Educational activities and learning programmes
• Community and off-site activities
• Personal care and mobility support where required
• Developing confidence, independence and choice
• Building meaningful relationships and achieving individual outcomes

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where learners can thrive.

About You

We are looking for people who are:

• Confident supporting individuals with learning disabilities and additional needs
• Comfortable providing personal care and supporting manual handling requirements where necessary

You will have:

• Good Maths, English and IT skills
• At least two years' experience supporting young people or adults with learning disabilities, complex needs or behavioural needs
• A genuine passion for empowering others to reach their full potential

Qualifications in Learning Support, Health & Social Care or related fields would be advantageous but are not essential.

Important Information

Appointment as a BANK LSCA is subject to the successful completion of a full week of on-site training and an induction programme before commencing duties.
