Job summary

Care South is seeking Home Care Assistants to support clients at home in Chard/Ilminster. The role offers paid travel time and a generous 40p per mile mileage allowance, with hours from 07:00–14:00 and/or 16:00–22:00. Applicants must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

You'll join a not-for-profit charity committed to quality care, with induction, training, and ongoing support. Bank hours mean flexibility; weekend work is required as needed.

About The Role

Role: Home Care Assistant

Location: Chard and Ilminster

Pay: £13.50 - £15.50 per hour

Travel: £12.71 per hour + 40p per mile mileage allowance

Hours: Bank Hours (Hours worked as required by the service, with no guaranteed hours. Applicants should be willing to work weekends as required)

Shift Pattern: 07:00 - 14:00 and/or 16:00 - 22:00

About you:

• Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not required
• You will have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Flexible in the hours you can work and ability to work every other weekend
• Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• You will hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to undertake one.
