Job summary

Caldbeck Surgery is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant for short-term bank cover at our GP practice. You will work in a friendly team, undertake phlebotomy, record observations and support NHS health checks.

The role includes ECGs, clinical measurements, preparing patients for reviews, maintaining accurate records and adhering to practice policies. Prior GP experience is advantageous, and you will join a supportive, patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• Experience as Healthcare Assistant in a GP setting is preferred.
• Confident undertaking phlebotomy and patient-facing duties.
• Excellent teamwork and patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples and perform phlebotomy.
• Record blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and other observations.
• Support NHS health checks and routine monitoring.
• Perform ECGs and other clinical measurements within your competency.
• Prepare patients for clinical reviews and assist nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
• Work safely in line with practice policies and procedures.

Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking for flexible work in a friendly GP practice?

Caldbeck Surgery is looking for a short term Bank Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for imminent cover.

Short term imminent cover required

• Mondays all day
• Tuesdays all day
• Friday mornings
• Additional bank sessions available to cover annual leave and sickness.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking blood samples and carrying out phlebotomy
• Recording blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and other observations
• Supporting NHS health checks and routine monitoring
• ECGs and other clinical measurements within your competency
• Preparing patients for clinical reviews
• Supporting our nursing and wider clinical team
• Maintaining accurate clinical records
• Working safely and in accordance with practice policies and procedures

Previous GP practice experience would be an advantage.
