Job summary

Serencroft Care Homes is seeking a Bank Health Care Assistant to support residents at Gable Court, Romford, on a flexible, as-required basis.

You will help with daily living activities, assist with mobility and meals, and help maintain safety and dignity in a person-centred care home environment.

This role offers flexible hours across shifts, DBS checks completed, and the chance to join a values-led multi-site care group with training, progression and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant is desirable but not essential.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
• Good communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing and continence care, in a dignified and person-centred way
• Assist residents with mobility, using appropriate moving and handling techniques and equipment
• Support residents at mealtimes, including assistance with eating and drinking where needed
• Monitor and report any changes in residents' health, wellbeing or behaviour to senior staff promptly
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with home procedures
• Support residents to take part in social and recreational activities
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Promote residents' dignity, independence and choice in all aspects of their care
• Work flexibly across shifts as required, covering absence and additional demand within the home

Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to provide high-quality, person-centred care. We'r elooking for a creative, enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to help plan and deliver engaging activities for the residents and staff who call Gable Court home.

Role Overview

As a Bank Health Care Assistant, you'll provide personal care and support to residents at Gable Court on a flexible, as-required basis. You'll help residents with daily living activities, support their physical and emotional wellbeing, and help ensure the home meets health and safety standards — playing an important behind-the-scenes role in the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar care setting is desirable but not essential
• A caring, compassionate and patient approach to supporting residents
• Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
• Good communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude
• Willingness to work flexibly across a range of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, at short notice
