Licence/Certification:
As a nurse or paramedic, you can build a career within the criminal justice system, helping some of the most vulnerable people in society.
We require Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, or Paramedics with 2 years' post-qualification experience, who aim to deliver gold-standard care and be part of a team with this vision and a passion for developing clinical, forensic, and wider skills. No previous forensic experience required; training will be provided.
You must have the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but also across an assigned region in Police Custody Suites and Force areas.
What does the role involve?
The custody suites can be energetic environments, with no two shifts the same. While detained, we provide individuals with physical, mental healthcare, and wellbeing support, as well as gather forensic samples needed by police investigations. You will be assessing detainees' fitness to be detained or released, administering medications, and working with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root causes of criminal behavior.
