NHS Ayrshire & Arran is recruiting a Bank Facilities Assistant to Portree Hospital on Skye. The role supports Catering, Laundry and Domestic services, striving for high standards of cleanliness and compliance with infection control policies.

You will work to meet cleaning schedules and assist with meal preparation, laundry, and general site upkeep. This bank post operates on a rota and weekend work may be required; a comprehensive induction and training package is provided to help you perform

Job description

We are currently seeking to recruit Bank Facilities Assistant to join our team in Portree Hospital. This post will be based in Portree Hospital Skye. The successful applicant’s role shall be to provide services to the Catering, Laundry and Domestic services.

The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness are maintained in line with local infection control policies, Covid 19 guidance and maintaining compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification, and Waste Regulations.

To meet specified cleaning schedules, and promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness within the environment.

Catering duties include regeneration of meals and preparation of salads, sandwiches and snacks.

To meet specified Laundry Services to the standard of NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specifications

This is a Bank post to be available to work on a Facilities rota and to cover weekends if required. We offer a full comprehensive induction and training package.

Rate of pay from £14.22 an hour with an attractive weekend working rate.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
