Bright Horizons Livingston Early Learning and Childcare seeks a flexible practitioner to join our Bright Flex / Bank team in Livingston. The role blends bank/agency work with the security and benefits of being an employee, offering the best of both worlds.

You will support colleagues in delivering the Scottish Curriculum frameworks, engaging children in educational activities and helping them reach key milestones. PVG checks apply.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience working with children in nursery settings such as Nursery Practitioner or similar.
• Ability to engage children and communicate with adults effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of the Scottish Curriculum frameworks through activities.
• Work with the team to complete day-to-day tasks and maintain a tidy environment.

We are looking for a flexible working practitioner to join our Bright Flex / Bank team at our Livingston nursery.

Bright Horizons Livingston Early Learning and Childcare offers a warm, welcoming, and purpose-built environment designed to support children from 3 months to 5 years. The nursery features vibrant sensory rooms, a spacious garden with a mud kitchen, growing space, and dedicated bike and scooter areas, all tailored to encourage imaginative play and active learning. Our team are known for their nurturing approach and strong community engagement, including nature walks and local outings. For commuters, the nursery is ideally located just a five-minute walk from Livingston South train station and offers onsite parking, making it easily accessible for those travelling from surrounding areas

The Role

Working as part of our Bright Flex / Bank team, you can blend the convenience of bank/ agency work, with the security and benefits of being an employee – giving you the best of both worlds!

Within this role, you will support colleagues with their delivery of the Scottish Curriculum frameworks through engaging children in entertaining and educational activities, encouraging their development towards key milestones. You will also work as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed, such as room tidying and preparation.

What we’re looking for

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Previous experience working with children – Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar
• Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
• Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable
