Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Bank Chef to support our Retirement Community at Doddington Court, Benwick Road, March, PE15 0WD. The role offers £13.35 per hour with hours as and when required, and focuses on delivering a high-quality catering service that meets individual dietary needs.

You will join a compassionate, community-focused team, benefit from fully funded hospitality qualifications, and enjoy a better work-life balance with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment delivering meals to diverse groups.
• Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality required or equivalent.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate needed.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality catering service meeting individual needs, including special diets.
• No late nights or split shifts; maintain work-life balance.
• Manage food and labour budgets through effective planning and purchasing.
• Oversee stock control, audits and accurate record-keeping.
• Ensure food safety standards are understood and followed by the team.
• Maintain high hygiene and safety standards through scheduled cleaning and maintenance.

Your role

(This position is referred to as Chef but may also be known as Demi Chef, Line Chef, Cook, Chef de Partie (CDP), or Commis Chef)

Your skills

• Experience working in a catering environment and cooking for diverse groups
• Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and budget management
• Friendly and approachable, with great customer interaction skills
