Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Bank Catering Assistant for the Middleton House retirement community in Cheltenham. You will support meal and drink service, follow food hygiene standards, and help maintain clean kitchens and living areas on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or catering is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Willingness to progress in hospitality qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare meals and drinks while following food hygiene standards.
• Support customers and colleagues to deliver a high standard of service.
• Keep kitchens, communal areas, and flats clean and tidy.
• Report faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely.
• Some experience in a domestic or catering environment (desirable).

The position of Catering Assistant is referred to internally at Sanctuary, as General Assistant – Catering.

Your role

• Help prepare meals and drinks while following food hygiene standards
• Support customers and colleagues to deliver a high standard of service
• Keep kitchens, communal areas, and flats clean and tidy
• Report any faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment
• Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely
• Experience with general cleaning duties (desirable)
• Some experience in a domestic or catering environment
• Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering, or willingness to work towards
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace
