Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Bank Catering Assistant at The Limes, Langwith, Mansfield. Work with the catering team to prepare meals, support delivery, and maintain hygiene in a calm environment. You will interact with service users and staff, under the Head Chef’s guidance, with flexible shifts to suit your availability.

The role emphasizes hygiene, diet considerations, and safe food handling, with social interaction outside the kitchen and DBS disclosure as part of safer recruitment.

• Relevant catering qualification (Desirable).
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

• Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking of meals per policies and procedures.
• Serve service users, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Keep all areas, equipment and furniture clean and stored correctly.
• Ensure kitchen and related areas meet hygiene standards and policies.
• Liaise with the team, including dietitians, regarding dietary and planned meals.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the chefs to prepare meals, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries. There’s a great social aspect to this role where you can interact with people outside the kitchen regularly.

As a Bank Catering Assistant You Will Be

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Serving service users, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Need

Where You Will Be Working

Location: The Limes, Main Street, Langwith, Mansfield NG20 9HD

It is a specialist Rehabilitation service for men with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder and a history of trauma and/or attachment disorders. The service offers a blended model of rehabilitation that combines a traditional rehabilitation environment with single and dual occupancy apartments, to provide a seamless care pathway for men. You will be working in an environment where there is a strong emphasis on positive risk taking which enables self-reliance and builds trust and self-esteem.
