Opening Paragraph:
NHS Shetland is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior/Chief Audiologist to join our team on a locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled professional to contribute to our audiology services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. The successful candidate will benefit from return travel arrangements (within the UK) and single board accommodation provided by the board.

Responsibilities:
As the Locum Chief Audiologist, you will be responsible for leading and managing the audiology department, providing expert clinical services, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Your role will include conducting comprehensive audiological assessments, fitting and adjusting hearing aids, and providing rehabilitation services. You will also be involved in training and supervising junior staff, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Degree in Audiology or equivalent
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist in Audiology
  • Extensive experience in a senior audiology role, preferably within the NHS
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in using audiological equipment and software
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
