Job summary

Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for a newly created post in the Selby CAMHS team. The role focuses on neurodevelopmental assessment and OT input to support young people, with opportunity to influence the wider CAMHS service.

You will manage a complex caseload, use client-centred approaches to co-produce goals, and work within an MDT including psychologists, nurses and other specialists. This is a full-time on-site position in Selby.

Qualifications

• Registration with the HCPC or relevant regulatory body
• Minimum 18 months post-qualifying OT experience
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to manage a complex caseload independently
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice in a designated specialist area
• Postgraduate training in a relevant specialist area if applicable
• Experience of applying coproduction principles with service users and carers

Responsibilities

• Receive referrals for occupational therapy, triage and prioritise referrals
• Complete evidence-based assessments and interventions addressing self-care, productivity and leisure
• Co-produce negotiated occupational goals with service users and evaluate progress
• Contribute to clinical/professional and management supervision within a MDT
• Lead on service improvement and quality initiatives; use the Trust EPR
• Abide by Trust policies and procedures and respond flexibly to challenges
