Sister/Charge Nurse at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield, part of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, leads the Oncology Outpatient Service in a Band 6 role, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and overseeing SACT delivery in a nurse-led environment.

You will provide professional leadership, support staff development, and contribute to governance, audits and service improvements across multiple outpatient sites while maintaining safe staffing and exceptional patient

Qualifications

• : Registered Nurse with valid UK registration and post-registration qualification.
• : Degree-level qualification and evidence of post-registration academic achievement.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate the day-to-day running of the Oncology Outpatient Department, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate patient care.
• Provide clinical leadership and act as a role model, promoting high standards of nursing practice and patient experience.
• Safely administer and oversee Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments (SACT), including chemotherapy and supportive therapies, in line with local and national standards.
• Assess, monitor and support patients throughout their treatment journey, managing treatment-related complications and adverse reactions.
• Provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Support, supervise and develop nursing and support staff, acting as a mentor and facilitating professional development.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and the South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire Cancer Network to ensure seamless patient care.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
• Manage the department in the absence of the Senior Sister, ensuring safe staffing levels and effective service delivery.
• Support service provision across multiple outpatient sites, including Breathing Space, as required.
