Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 6 Mammographer to join the Imaging team in Dundee on a locum basis. The role offers £50 per hour with options for full-time or part-time hours, supporting NHS breast imaging through Ninewells Hospital and mobile screening units across the region.

You will perform high-quality mammography, ensure patient comfort and safety, and maintain comprehensive records in NHS systems while adhering to IR(ME)R and NHS governance standards.

What you will do
  • Undertake high-quality screening and symptomatic mammography examinations in accordance with NHS Breast Screening Programme standards.
  • Perform mammographic imaging independently, ensuring optimal image quality whilst maintaining patient dignity, comfort, and safety.
  • Participate in breast imaging services delivered from both Ninewells Hospital and designated mobile screening units across the region.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation using approved NHS systems and departmental protocols.
  • Comply with IR(ME)R regulations, radiation protection policies, and NHS clinical governance requirements.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • BSc Hons Diagnostic Radiography, Diploma of the College of Radiographers DCR or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography essential.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to breast imaging practice.
Registration and Compliance
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC.
  • Knowledge of IR(ME)R regulations and NHS clinical governance frameworks.
