Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel in Norwich is recruiting an experienced Band 8b Mammographer for an ongoing locum post with flexible full-time/part-time options. You will work 28 hours per week across multiple sites, with a schedule that includes mornings throughout the week.

The role involves leading breast imaging, performing mammography and related procedures, and supporting audit and improvement in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration is required.
  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Master's level qualification in Mammography or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in mammography interpretation and advanced breast imaging.
  • Experience across breast screening and symptomatic services.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently as a Responsible Assessor within breast screening and symptomatic clinics.
  • Perform high-quality mammography examinations in line with national breast screening standards and departmental protocols.
  • Accurately interpret mammography images and undertake independent screen reading.
  • Perform breast ultrasound examinations and ultrasound-guided and stereotactic-guided biopsies.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary breast care team, supporting high-quality patient management and decision-making.
  • Communicate sensitively and professionally with patients, obtaining informed consent and discussing complex or sensitive information.
  • Supervise, teach, and mentor junior staff, radiographers, and students.
  • Participate in audit, quality assurance, service evaluation, and research projects.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure HCPC and local governance compliance.
  • Engage in ongoing continuing professional development to maintain and enhance specialist knowledge.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 8b Mammographer to join a specialist breast imaging service in Norwich. This ongoing locum position offers a competitive hourly rate of £43.50 and the opportunity to work across multiple clinical sites. With both full-time and part-time options available, you will work 28 hours per week across the following schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 08:00 - 13:00
  • Tuesday & Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
