Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Dental Nurse Manager to lead and develop a dental team on a site within the Trust.

The role requires significant management experience, a Dental Nurse qualification, and GDC registration, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and staff development within Dental Services.

Qualifications

• Dental Nurse Qualification which is able to be registered with the GDC.
• Registered with the GDC.
• Possess a management and/or supervisory qualification.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Post Qualifications e.g. Radiography, Sedation, Special Care, Oral Health.

Responsibilities

• Develop and empower all members of your team to perform to high standards and innovate.
• Ensure staff management arrangements are in place and carry out appraisals/PDRs for direct reports; ensure all staff have annual PDRs with specific objectives and development plans.
• Promote equality and diversity and address inequalities in employment and service delivery; include equality objectives in PDRs.
• Foster a healthcare culture focusing on Health and Wellbeing and establish a Great Place to Work and Learning for staff.

Management and Leadership Responsibilities

1. Develop and empower all members of your team to perform to high standards and innovate.
2. Ensure supportive staff management arrangements are in place and carry out appraisals/personal development reviews (PDR's) for direct reports. Ensure all staff in your team/s have annual PDR's resulting in specific objectives and effective personal development plans
3. Develop staff knowledge and skills to promote equality and diversity and address inequalities both in employment and service delivery. Ensure specific equality objective are included in PDR's.
4. Develop a working culture that ensures Health and Wellbeing and promotes a 'Great Place to Work' and Learning for staff.

Essential criteria

• Dental Nurse Qualification which is able to be registered with the GDC
