Job Description:

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is recruiting a Band 6-7 Biomedical Scientist in Haematology and Blood Transfusion to work in London. We seek a biomedical scientist capable of supporting the laboratory’s service effectively.

Position: Biomedical Scientist

Banding: 6/7

Location: London

Hours: Full-time (Core hours 9:00 to 17:30 during training)

Duration: 3 months/Ongoing

Responsibilities:

Proficient in microtomy, capable of cutting over 30 blocks per hour to a high standard; experienced in embedding and staining. Support senior biomedical scientists and guide junior staff daily.

Essential Requirements:

• HCPC registration
• Microtomy experience
• Experience in UK NHS or private sector Haematology and Blood Transfusion labs
• Knowledge of coagulation, blood film morphology, blood grouping, and antibody testing
• Experience with Sysmex, Beckman Coulter Dxh, or BioRad IH-1000
