Job description

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6-7 Biomedical Scientist in Haematology/Transfusion to work in Guildford. We seek a biomedical scientist capable of making a significant impact in supporting the laboratory’s service.

Position Details:
  • Role: Biomedical Scientist
  • Banding: 6/7
  • Location: Guildford
  • Hours: Full-time (9:00 to 17:30)
  • Duration: 3 months/Ongoing
Responsibilities:

As a Biomedical Scientist specializing in haematology and blood transfusion, you will be expected to have extensive experience with analysers for full blood counts (FBC) and coagulation testing. Your duties will include maintaining and troubleshooting analysers, loading and operating equipment, and ensuring correct blood typing for recipients.

Essential Requirements:
  • HCPC registration
  • Microtomy experience
  • Experience in UK NHS or private haematology labs
  • Knowledge of coagulation, blood film morphology, blood grouping, and antibody testing
  • Experience with Sysmex, Beckman Coulter DxH, or BioRad IH-1000 analyzers
