Covering North and South Kirklees
A fantastic, rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Band 5 Community TB Nurse within the Locala TB service, covering North and South Kirklees.
The role is varied and includes working within a clinical setting and the community. Predominantly the role will be based in South Kirklees but there may be times when the successful candidate will need to work across both North and South Kirklees.
The role includes working in New Entrant screening clinics, screening adults and children who come from a country where there is a high prevalence of TB. The role involves visiting patients within their homes in the community. Phlebotomy and S1 patient record skills would be advantages, but training will be provided to the right candidate.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a curable, infectious disease; we offer a unique specialist service to patients across the Kirklees area. The service includes caring for both children and adults, providing a high standard of care within different cultures to people who are suffering from both active and latent TB.
Our mission is to help vulnerable communities reach their potential and live well, free from TB. We do this by providing high-quality care in the right place at the right time. We liaise and work closely with several stake holders including United Kingdom health security agency (UKHSA), Kirklees council public health and other patient support agencies to achieve this.
We are looking for an experienced Band 5 staff Nurse who would like to work within a varied and unusual field of nursing to join our small friendly team.
