Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking an experienced Intensive Therapy Unit Nurse (Band 5) to join our ITU team in Walsall. The role offers shifts across full-time, part-time and flexible arrangements with hourly rates of £17.00–£32.00.

You will provide high-quality critical care, work with a multidisciplinary team, and support patients' families while adhering to NMC standards and DBS requirements. A £500 Refer a Friend bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration.
• Experience in Intensive Care Units is essential.
• Current DBS check or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work across nights, weekends and days.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill ITU patients.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
• Carry out assessments and administer treatments in ITU.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans as required.
• Provide emotional support to patients' families.
• Access to a dedicated consultant for support and advice.
• £500 Refer a Friend Bonus: refer other healthcare professionals and earn £500 when they work with Pulse Nursing.

As an ITU nurse, you play a critical role in providing specialized care to patients in the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) . Your expertise in critical care, monitoring, and patient advocacy is invaluable in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in ITU settings
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with doctors, consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
• Carry out assessments, administer treatments, and manage intensive care procedures.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting care plans as required.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients' families.
• Access to a dedicated consultant for support and advice.

Requirements:

• Valid NMC registration.
• ITU Experience: Previous experience in Intensive Care Units is essential.
• Critical Care Skills: Strong understanding of critical care procedures, monitoring, and patient safety.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility & Reliability: Willingness to work across various shifts including nights, weekends and Days .
• A current DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check (Pulse Nursing can help facilitate this).
