Job description

The BHRUT EPR Programme Team is excited to announce a fixed term or secondment opportunity to join us as our EPR Recruitment and Workforce Project Officer.

Our new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) will be going live in September 2025, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team, providing comprehensive recruitment and wider workforce project support to the Head of EPR Workforce.

This role will provide a proactive, flexible, dedicated recruitment service for the EPR Programme, alongside administrative and project support to the Head of EPR Workforce, including organisational change processes, retention and development activity, rostering and annual leave management, and any other general programme requirements.

We are seeking an individual from an NHS background with extensive experience in Trac recruitment and outstanding project support skills across recruitment and/or wider workforce functions.

This role is offered on a fixed term or secondment basis until 30th September 2025.

We would welcome informal enquiries in advance, and ask all internal BHRUT staff to discuss any secondment opportunities with their existing line manager before applying.

The postholder will be responsible for providing comprehensive recruitment and project support to support successful resourcing and retention of the EPR programme team.

The role will provide a proactive, flexible, dedicated recruitment function for the EPR programme, ensuring that all relevant recruitment takes place in a timely way, adhering to Trust policies and procedures, NHS standards and employment law. The postholder will ensure that all NHS employment checks and legislative requirements are completed and adhered to, enabling the EPR programme to recruit up to 200 roles from within and outside the organisation.

As the programme progresses, the postholder will provide an increasing project support function to the Head of EPR Workforce, providing administrative and project support across a range of programme workforce-related activity, including organisational change processes, retention and development activity, rostering and annual leave management, and any other general programme requirements.

We’re an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and our patients are happy with. We’re no longer in special measures; we’ve opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH); and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care.

Our patients are benefitting from our Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.

The majority of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record that will be transformative for our staff and beneficial for our patients.
