Job summary

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is hiring a part-time Facilities Assistant based at Stewart House in the Estates and Facilities Directorate. The role covers patient meals, cleaning and portering to support safe, efficient patient care.

The post involves a 7.30am–3pm shift, 2‑week rota with alternate weekends. You’ll be part of a Soft FM Team, working across Trust sites with a focus on partnership, flexibility and patient-focused service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Ability to rotate between responsibilities as required.
  • Recognition of NHS standards and cleanliness expectations.

  • Prepare and regenerate patient meals at ward level daily.
  • Provide cleaning and domestic services including linen washing to NHS standards.
  • Deliver portering services including transporting linen cages and waste bins; assist patient moves.

We have a vacancy based at Stewart House within our Estates and Facilities Directorate, working an average of 24.5 hours per week, 7.30am to 3pm, on a 2 week rota including alternate weekends.

As a Facilities Assistant you will provide an effective, patient-focused Facilities Service (FM) in the delivery of porterting, cleaning and catering.

Applicants are asked to bring their photo ID and right to work including proof of address to their interviews.

All roles will provide a range of duties across our Trust sites and support services to ensure a safe, efficient and effective service to all patients, staff and visitors is delivered.

Facilities Assistant Duties
  • Duties will include the preparation and regeneration of patient meals at ward level on a daily basis
  • Providing an effective, patient-focused cleaning and domestic service, including washing linen, to meet NHS cleanliness standards as a minimum within designated patient / non-patient areas within the Trust.
  • The postholder will also be responsible for the provision of appropriate portering services including transportation of linen cages, waste bins / carts in and around hospital environments and patient moves (reception to department or department to department)

This role will require the individual to rotate between their responsibilities as required.
