Job summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a flexible bank position for a Housekeeper/Catering Assistant in the Gloucester locality. The role covers Estates & Facilities across sites, with zero hours to cover leave and sickness, and a rate of £12.92 per hour.

You will contribute to cleaning, catering and linen services, supporting patient wellbeing and ensuring high hygiene standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of cleaning and/or catering duties.
  • Experience in Customer Service.
  • Knowledge of COSHH is desirable.

We have an opportunity to join our Facilities Team within the Gloucester Locality, including Wotton Lawn Mental Health Hospital, Pullman Place, Acorn House, Collingwood and other buildings within Gloucester Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Our Facilities Team delivers Portering, Cleaning, Catering and Linen services within our in-patient units, from 7am – 8pm, seven days a week.

Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeper, you will help maintain a safe, clean and relaxing environment for our patients to recover in.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Job Overview:

  • Work as a member of the Estates & Facilities Team in all areas of the site. Housekeepers will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to their work to meet the needs of the service.
  • Maintains a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, as defined within the National Specification of Cleanliness.
  • Prepares and presents patient meals and beverages in inpatient areas in accordance with Food Hygiene procedures.
