Job summary

Blackbird Bakery is looking for a Food Production Team Member in London to support baking, prep and shop service. You will help prepare sandwiches and products, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.

You will also work with the full retail team, serving customers, handling payments and maintaining shop standards. The role offers training and opportunities to progress within Blackbird Bakery.

Qualifications

• Previous bakery, café, kitchen or food preparation experience is helpful.
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures and food safety standards.
• Good organisation and ability to work accurately at speed.
• Willingness to help across the shop and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Bake products using the shop's ovens and equipment, following the correct programmes, temperatures and timings.
• Prepare ingredients, fillings and sandwiches to Blackbird recipes and portion sizes.
• Maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
• Organise preparation and replenish products throughout the day.
• Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and food safety.
• Check deliveries, ingredients and finished products, reporting any quality concerns.
• Follow stock rotation and shelf life requirements.
• Complete temperature checks and keep products correctly labelled, dated and stored.
