Job description

Before sunrise, you’re already baking. You take pride in texture, temperature, and timing. At InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa, we’re hiring a Baker who’s passionate about the craft and capable of delivering both quantity and quality for a luxury resort setting.

Responsibilities
  • Bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other goods to established standards
  • Operate commercial baking equipment like mixers and ovens
  • Follow recipes with attention to consistency and quality
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Assist with product presentation and display
  • Manage baking schedules and inventory of ingredients
  • Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff
  • Adapt recipes or techniques as needed for dietary requests
  • Maintain cleanliness of baking stations and equipment
Experience and Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of professional baking experience (hotel, resort, or commercial kitchen preferred)
  • Proficient in baking breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods
  • Skilled in operating commercial baking equipment (mixers, ovens, dough tools)
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards
  • Able to read and follow recipes accurately with attention to consistency
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Creative flair and strong sense of product presentation
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physically fit – able to stand for long hours and lift heavy trays or ingredients
  • Flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Certification or formal training in Baking or Culinary Arts is a plus
