Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a Bagger Operative to join our Grantham team in a frozen production setting. You will ensure accurate bag filling, sealing and presentation while upholding strict quality and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include machine adjustments, quality checks, and maintaining production and traceability records. Adherence to health and safety, and strong collaboration with supervisors and maintenance teams are essential.

The Bagging Machine Operative is responsible for operating and monitoring the bagging machine within a frozen chicken production environment. The role involves ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the equipment while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.

Key responsibilities include monitoring the correct filling and sealing of bags, carrying out regular quality checks on packaging (seal integrity, weight accuracy, labelling, and product presentation), and promptly identifying and addressing any defects or non‑conformances. The operative performs basic machine adjustments and minor repairs to minimise downtime and reports any technical issues requiring maintenance support.

The operative is also responsible for completing all relevant production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately and in line with company procedures and legal requirements. Working in a frozen environment, the role requires adherence to health and safety, hygiene, and cold-store working practices at all times, as well as effective communication with supervisors, quality, and maintenance teams.

Shift pattern

Monday to Friday - 06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 alternating

Salary

Salary starts from £30 056 per year, £578 per week
