Job summary

Birmingham Airport is seeking a skilled Baggage Maintenance Engineer to keep its baggage handling systems safe, reliable, and efficient. You will work on conveyors, carousels, x-ray machines and control systems in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

You will perform preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults quickly, and use CMMS to record and analyse activities while complying with health and safety obligations.

Qualifications

Recognised industry apprenticeship with electrical and mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3).
Experience maintaining conveyors or automated material handling systems.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and risk assessments.
Ability to diagnose and resolve breakdowns quickly under pressure.

Responsibilities

Carry out preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance on baggage handling systems.
Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise disruption using fault-finding techniques.
Ensure compliance with health and safety obligations during maintenance tasks.
Use CMMS to record, track, and analyse maintenance activities.
