Job summary

The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Infection Science - Bacteriology) at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent. This permanent Band 6 role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, across a 24/7 shift pattern.

You will be part of a team of bacteriology staff delivering diagnostic services to NHS trusts and wider providers, with HCPC registration, IBMS Specialist Diploma and CPD required.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist with UK registration.
• Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
• Experience with complex, specialist equipment.
• Experience in an NHS Lab or acute trust.
• Experience working in a busy bacteriology laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of virology and bacteriology staff based at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
• Provide diagnostic and clinical services across two acute Hospitals and wider providers.
• Operate in a 24/7 37.5 hour week with a shift pattern.
