Job summary

Scrumconnect Consulting, a UK-based digital consultancy, seeks an experienced Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side services and REST/GraphQL APIs. You will contribute to Agentic AI workflows and collaborate with senior engineers to shape system architecture.

The role emphasizes TDD/BDD practices, code reviews, and integration with databases, messaging systems, and third-party APIs within an Agile/Scrum environment in London.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• 10-15 years' commercial backend development experience.
• Proven experience delivering production-grade services in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Exposure to integrating AI/LLM capabilities into production systems.
• Good communication skills; able to explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using Java/Spring Boot (or equivalent).
• Collaborate with senior engineers on system architecture and data model design.
• Write clean, well-tested code following TDD/BDD and coding standards.
