Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Backend Developer in London to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side services and APIs. You will contribute to agentic AI workflows and integrate LLM-based capabilities within our engineering platform, working under Agile/Scrum practices.

You will design robust data models, write tested code, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while supporting cloud deployments on AWS/Azure and containerised environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent
• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Proven delivery of production-grade services in Agile/Scrum
• Exposure to AI/LLM capabilities in production systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using Java/Spring Boot
• Contribute to system architecture and data model design with senior engineers
• Write clean, well-tested code following TDD/BDD and coding standards
• Participate in code reviews and provide/receive feedback
• Integrate backend services with databases, messaging systems, and third-party APIs
• Build and operate agentic AI workflows and tool integrations
• Support CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments (AWS/Azure), and containers
• Diagnose production issues and improve monitoring and observability
• Document designs, APIs, and agent workflows clearly
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and product teams in an Agile/Scrum model
