Job summary

Kaluza is hiring for a backend-focused role based in the UK. You will build and maintain backend services using TypeScript/Node.js, learn AWS-driven event systems, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver customer-facing features.

Join a large engineering community working at scale, with a fluid tech stack including TypeScript, Node.js, Terraform, GitActions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Kafka, and GraphQL.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend coding with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Basic understanding of cloud tech, especially AWS.
• Familiarity with databases and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using modern technologies like TypeScript and Node.js.
• Learn to work with event-driven systems and cloud platforms (especially AWS).
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to develop customer-facing features.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to grow your technical skills.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of services and systems, with support from your team.
• Work with databases (SQL or NoSQL) to manage and retrieve data.
• Participate in team discussions, stand-ups, and planning sessions to understand scale.
• Ask questions, seek feedback, and share learnings to support a positive team environment.
