Job summary

Wise is seeking an experienced software engineer to drive automation and centralisation across partner pricing and billing systems. You will build reconciliation and automated controls, and shape long-term architecture for external partners.

You will design end-to-end features across pricing/billing services, contribute to code quality, resilience and observability, and work with Kafka, MongoDB and MariaDB in an event-driven setup. RSUs accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with Java or a similar object-oriented programming language.
• Ability to design systems with a longer-term approach and scalable patterns.
• Accountability for availability, reliability and security of systems.
• Good judgement balancing speed, scalability and risk with resilience in mind.
• Address technical debt pragmatically within risk appetite.
• Commitment to observability, security, testing and responsible data usage.

Responsibilities

• Design and build features end-to-end across pricing and billing services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews to raise quality and observability.
• Improve resilience and scalability of systems that support external partners and financial operations.
• Work with event-driven architectures (Kafka) alongside MongoDB and MariaDB for auditable systems.
• Use AI tooling in the development lifecycle to support delivery and code quality.
