Job summary

Ocho People Ltd. is recruiting a Mid Level Backend Engineer in Belfast to design and own high-throughput Go services that power a cloud security platform.

You’ll work in a hybrid Belfast setup, 3 days a week in the office, collaborating with Research, Security and Platform teams to ship production-ready backend features. You should have 3–6+ years of backend experience, strong Go skills, and hands-on Kubernetes and cloud experience across AWS/GCP/Azure.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years' commercial backend software engineering experience.
• Strong Go production experience or willingness to switch from another language to Go.
• Experience designing and scaling distributed, high-throughput systems.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, Docker and at least one cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Solid Linux fundamentals and UK work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build distributed backend services in Go that process real-time runtime data at scale.
• Lead technical design for platform capabilities across workload, API and identity security.
• Own services end to end from design through deployment, monitoring and improvement.
• Drive performance, reliability and cost efficiency across Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Security Research to ship detections from emerging techniques.
• Shape how AI and machine learning power detection and risk prioritisation.
• Mentor engineers and raise code quality and review standards.
• Help define the Belfast engineering culture as the team grows.
