Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced backend developer to join an AI‑driven software engineering team. You'll work with TypeScript, Node.js and Google Cloud to modernise an established platform and support international expansion.

You will own development from API design to production, tackle distributed systems challenges, and help deliver reliable, scalable services while embracing AI‑assisted workflows to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with TypeScript, Node.js, APIs and distributed systems, plus cloud-based development.
• Experience building backend services and APIs with scalable architectures.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud or similar cloud platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Build integrations with third-party systems.
• Address distributed systems challenges (retries, failures, data consistency).
• Modernise existing apps and migrate services to Google Cloud.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to speed delivery.
• Own development from code to production support.
