Job summary

Ben in London is seeking a backend-leaning full-stack engineer to build features powering our platform, from benefits browsing to provider integrations. You will take features from idea to production, collaborating across product, design, and engineering.

You will own your work end-to-end, ship with scale and security in mind, and contribute to technical discovery and architecture thinking. The role offers a hybrid setup with two days a week in the Barbican office.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building modern web apps with backend systems.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript, or eager to learn quickly.
• Enjoy collaborating with PMs and designers on solving real user problems.
• Able to work autonomously and align with Why and How.
• Experience at enterprise scale is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend-leaning fullstack features across the product (APIs, services, integrations, and React frontend)
• Balance shipping speed with thoughtful engineering
• Collaborate with product managers to shape solutions early
• Work with designers to create polished user experiences
• Contribute to technical discovery, architecture thinking, and implementation planning
• Ask product and UX questions when something doesn’t add up
• Design with scale, reliability, and security in mind
• Own your work from idea to production and measure impact
• Improve developer experience, tooling, and internal standards
• Embed security best practices in shipping software (OWASP, AWS Well-Architected)
