Job summary

Air Apps is seeking a DevOps Engineer Backend to design, automate, and maintain the infrastructure powering our backend systems. You will collaborate closely with developers to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective services in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years in DevOps/SRE, strong CI/CD, cloud and IaC skills, and hands-on Docker/Kubernetes experience. This on-site position is based in Lisbon with relocation support considered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, SRE or Cloud Engineering
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, ArgoCD
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and serverless computing
• IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
• Containerization with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
• Linux, networking and security best practices
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Go
• Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog
• Cost optimization, scalability, and high availability
• Strong problem solving in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve infrastructure reliability.
• Establish and enforce security best practices, including identity management, logging, and vulnerability management.
• Work with development teams to improve deployment efficiency and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Optimize cloud resource utilization to ensure cost-effectiveness and scalability.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and system maintenance.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging DevOps technologies, tools, and best practices.
