Job summary

ElevenLabs, an AI research and product company, seeks an experienced engineer to design and operate production safety systems across voice, text, and multimedia platforms. Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Strong backend engineering experience, including API design, databases, and scalable services.
• Proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks.
• Experience building distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
• Comfortable owning systems end to end, from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Experience working across stack, with ability to build internal tools or frontend interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguous requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build safety systems: design, develop, and scale automated moderation systems, abuse detection, and guardrails for AI agents across ElevenLabs' products.
• Respond to emerging threats by collaborating with the Investigations team to identify patterns and improve safety systems.
• Own production infrastructure, architect, deploy, and maintain internal safety services.
• Bring ML models into production by deploying fine-tuned and proprietary models into safety systems.
• Build end-to-end solutions: backend services, APIs, internal tools, and user-facing interfaces for moderation and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Safety Policy teams to translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
