Job summary

MTS Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled B1 Licensed Engineer to join a Stansted-based aircraft maintenance operation. The role combines team leadership, maintenance inputs, and certification duties, with a clear progression path as you ensure timely completion of maintenance in line with licence privileges.

The position offers a permanent contract with a 5-5-4-4 shift pattern, a strong salary (£66,392.50 base rising to £70,000 after probation) plus allowances, and opportunities to work on

Qualifications

  • A valid Part-66 B1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
  • Completion of a Competent Authority Recognised Part-147 Type Course.
  • Strong aircraft maintenance experience, ideally within business aviation/business jets.
  • Experience of line, base and/or AOG maintenance environments.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft inspection procedures, maintenance methods and industry standards.
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements and Part-145 maintenance operations.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading engineers during aircraft maintenance inputs.
  • Strong organisational and resource management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise confidently with customers, aircraft representatives and internal departments.
  • Relevant engineering qualification and/or substantial aircraft maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing teams of engineers across scheduled and non-routine aircraft maintenance
  • Certifying maintenance activities in accordance with your current licence privileges
  • Ensuring all maintenance is carried out to the highest safety, quality and regulatory standards
  • Managing aircraft maintenance inputs and ensuring projects progress to schedule
  • Providing daily progress reports and attending maintenance meetings
  • Liaising with hangar management regarding manpower, critical paths and third-party requirements
  • Liaising with support departments regarding spares, repairs, shortages and technical information
  • Carrying out quality monitoring of scheduled and non-routine work cards
  • Ensuring effective handovers between shifts and departments
  • Liaising directly with aircraft owners, representatives and customers
  • Supporting engine run-up authorisations where appropriately approved
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs

B1 Licensed Engineer – Stansted

Location: Stansted Contract: Permanent Salary: £66,392.50 basic + allowances, rising to £70,000 basic after successful probation Hours: 07:00-19:00, 12-hour shifts - 5, 5, 4, 4 shift pattern

We are recruiting for an experienced B1 Licensed Engineer to join a well-established aircraft maintenance operation based at Stansted. This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a licensed aircraft engineer with strong business jet maintenance experience who is confident managing maintenance inputs, leading engineering teams and certifying aircraft in accordance with their licence privileges.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of aircraft maintenance inputs and projects, ensuring scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory and company standards.

The Role

As a B1 Licensed Engineer, you will manage assigned engineers across aircraft maintenance inputs and projects, ensuring engineering, commercial and operational targets are achieved.

The position carries significant responsibility for maintenance standards, team management and the final release to service of aircraft.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A valid Part-66 B1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence
