Job summary

MTS Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced B1 AOG Licensed Engineer to support aircraft line maintenance and AOG activities at Stansted.

The role requires a full UK CAA or EASA B1 licence, current type ratings and willingness to travel on short notice. Salary is £76,000 per annum plus shift allowance and approvals, with a permanent contract and a 7-on, 7-off shift pattern.

Qualifications

B1 AOG Licensed Engineer

Location: Stansted
Salary: £76,000 per annum, plus shift allowance and approval payments
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm, 12-hour shifts – 7 days on, 7 days off

We are recruiting an experienced B1 AOG Licensed Engineer to support aircraft line maintenance and Aircraft on Ground activities at a busy corporate aviation facility in Stansted.

The Role

The B1 AOG Licensed Engineer will manage and certify aircraft line and AOG maintenance inputs, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements, company procedures and the organisation’s Maintenance Organisation Exposition.

You will represent the business when dealing with aircraft owners, operators and their representatives, providing a professional and responsive service. The role requires flexibility to travel at short notice when responding to AOG events.

When not deployed on AOG activities, you will support the base maintenance operation while remaining prepared for immediate deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out and certify line and AOG maintenance within your licence privileges and company approvals
  • Respond to AOG requirements and travel at short notice when required
  • Manage maintenance inputs, available resources and associated projects
  • Ensure all work complies with regulatory, safety, quality and company standards
  • Maintain effective communication with customers and the internal maintenance team
  • Ensure work remains within the capabilities of the company’s MOE and the aircraft’s state‑of‑registry requirements
  • Maintain responsibility for the AOG response vehicle, including its equipment, stock levels, replenishment and appearance
  • Support base maintenance activities when not deployed
  • Identify and report operational risks and hazards
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service
  • Provide leadership and direction to employees working within your area of responsibility
Requirements
  • Full unrestricted UK CAA or EASA B1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence
  • Current aircraft type ratings relevant to the operation
  • Engine ground‑run approval
  • Recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship
  • Previous line maintenance and AOG experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel at short notice

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently during AOG deployments and taking ownership of maintenance activities from initial response through to certification and completion.
