Job summary

STS Aviation Services is hiring B1 Aircraft Mechanics in Manchester, United Kingdom for contract opportunities starting in September 2026. The role involves supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on large commercial aircraft at our Manchester facility.

Applicants must have UK work authorisation with at least two years remaining before expiration and a valid DBS or the ability to obtain one. The position is onsite and full-time, aligned with a major winter maintenance programme.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' aircraft experience performing repairs and maintenance on large commercial aircraft.
• Right to work in the UK with at least two years remaining.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid DBS.
• Live aircraft mechanical experience required.
• Good knowledge of aircraft systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and overhaul customer aircraft, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Record maintenance activity and ensure accurate man-hour bookings.
• Ensure maintenance is performed safely, timely and to customer satisfaction.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness, comply with procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Comply with Health & Safety requirements in the workplace.
