Job summary

STS Aviation Services in Newquay, Cornwall, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced B1 Aircraft Mechanic on a contract basis to support its winter maintenance programme.

The role requires hands-on maintenance on large commercial aircraft, with a focus on safety, accuracy and timely delivery at the STS hangar in Newquay. Start is September, with employment contingent on UK work authorisation and clear DBS checks as needed.

Qualifications

• At least two years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Experience performing repairs, overhaul and maintenance on large commercial aircraft.
• Previous hands-on mechanical experience working with live aircraft.
• Good knowledge of aircraft systems.
• Valid authorisation to work for any employer in the United Kingdom.
• UK work authorisation must have at least two years remaining before expiration.
• Valid DBS check or ability to obtain one.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on customer aircraft.
• Complete aircraft repair, maintenance and overhaul activities.
• Follow STS Aviation Services and customer-specific interface processes.
• Record all completed maintenance activities accurately.
• Ensure man-hour bookings are completed correctly and on time.
• Maintain high standards of aircraft maintenance workmanship.
• Complete assigned maintenance activities efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Support customer expectations for quality and operational performance.
• Maintain high standards of workplace safety and cleanliness.
• Follow all company procedures and policies.
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Follow Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations.
