Job summary

Skybus Engineering seeks a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer at Land’s End Airport to maintain DHC-6 Twin Otter and BN2 Islander aircraft.

You will carry out certified maintenance, supervise tasks, and ensure airworthiness in a regional airline setting.Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work with a small team, perform routine and unscheduled maintenance, complete documentation, and support AOG recoveries while adhering to UK CAA rules.

Qualifications

• B1 UK CAA licence with Part-66 privileges.
• Experience in Part-145 maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and aviation safety standards.
• Ability to interpret maintenance data and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on DHC-6 Twin Otter and BN2 Islander aircraft.
• Certify maintenance activities per UK CAA Part-66 and Part-145 procedures.
• Carry out defect diagnosis, troubleshooting and rectification.
• Conduct aircraft inspections, including daily and weekly checks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and aircraft records.
• Support AOG recovery and operational requirements as needed.
• Supervise and mentor mechanics and junior engineering staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and human factors requirements.
