Qualifications

• B1 UK CAA Licence valid for aircraft maintenance.

• Must have 1+ type rating and experience on commercial or military aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Undertake scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance per regulatory and company requirements.
• Receive, dispatch and service aircraft including pre-flight, daily and weekly checks, maintenance and refuelling within procedures.
• Certify all maintenance tasks under the Company Quality Manager's authority.
• Ensure duties are performed safely and in accordance with documentation and policies.
• Coordinate ground movement of aircraft and liaison with Planning on inputs.
• Be available for AOG recovery and deputise for senior engineers when needed.

Overview

B1 Licensed Engineer (line maintenance) – Sponsored Reservist. Salary £71,628 per annum plus shift allowance and additional payments. Location: Carterton, Oxfordshire. This role is with Aeropeople on behalf of our client in Carterton and involves performing aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with regulatory airworthiness standards, working with the Shift Manager to meet customer contractual requirements. As a Sponsored Reservist, you will be deployed in support of the client’s specific aircraft and return to your civilian role when not required for military tasks. To qualify for Sponsored Reservist status you must hold a UK passport, be medically and dentally fit, and maintain the required fitness level. The role will involve a mix of day and night shifts and deployments of up to 6 months per year. Open to all B1 licensed technicians with at least one type rating currently on their licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake scheduled and un-scheduled Aircraft Maintenance in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Be responsible to the Shift Manager or nominated deputy for the receipt, dispatch and servicing of aircraft, including pre-flight checks, daily checks, weekly checks, scheduled maintenance, component changes, rectification and repair, mandatory inspection, role changes and aircraft refuelling within the Company Authorisation and procedures.
• Certify all servicing and maintenance tasks in accordance with the scope of authorisation and under the authority of the Company Quality Manager.
• Ensure that all technical staff working under supervision perform their duties safely and in accordance with the relevant documentation.
• Assume direct control of aircraft documentation under their control and ensure all required certification entries are promptly and correctly recorded.
• Control materials or company equipment provided for the task and maintain a clean working area.
• Be available at short notice to perform AOG recovery of aircraft from deployed operations.
• Liaise with Planning on technical issues and forthcoming scheduled inputs.
• Coordinate ground movement of aircraft as assigned by the Shift Manager.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are met and adhered to under all circumstances.
• Report safety and disciplinary matters to the immediate Line Manager.
• Perform other duties as required by the Line Manager and deliver a safe service in line with SMS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
• Deputise for senior engineer positions as required during absences.
• Utilise the company GCIS Maintenance IT Support systems where applicable.
• Drive and/or operate Company-provided MTGSE in line with authorisations.
• Maintain a safety-focused approach across all facets of work.
• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant company administration processes and document control management skills.
• Participate in Emergency Response actions and drills; encourage staff to report openly in a just culture.
• Maintain awareness of human factors, integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
• Develop investigation and analysis skills; contribute to building the corporate safety culture; support resource management and planning.
• Understand and apply company policies and national environmental and workplace HSE regulations.

About You

• B1 UK CAA Licence
• Type rating on at least one aircraft; A330 type rating is preferred but not mandatory – if you have the right experience you may be enrolled on an A330 type course
• Must pass a CP2 Colour Vision Test
• Must have at least 1 type rating on your licence
• Experience in both Line and Base maintenance environments
• Demonstrable experience on commercial or military aircraft
• Previously held company approvals on commercial aircraft or military equivalents
• Desirable: previous experience in a MOD environment
• Desirable: previous outstation experience
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC); a British passport is mandatory
